The Best and the Brightest. I enjoyed it. It seems like there was plenty of blame to go around. Johnson, in particular, comes across as a tragic figure. If he'd handled it better he might've gone down as a much better president, in light of his success at getting civil rights legislation passed. But he'll probably always be remembered for the Vietnam debacle. It took decades for the Democrats to recover, although that may have had more to do with his alienation of voters in the South. I mean, Clinton was surprisingly conservative, and Obama's policies were rejected in the 2016 election despite his general likability.

The Sun Also Rises. Possibly the saddest book I've ever read. Not my first read, but the first time in quite some time.
